  Farmerville and Delhi Charter sent their boys and girls teams to the West Monroe power lifting meet that lasted most of the day, Saturday.  There seemed to be about 40-50 lifters entered in this fun event.  I learned that power lifting is not the same as weight training for football, even though many of the guys participate in both sports.  But, let me tell you, these kids work very hard at this sport!  The ladies are just as committed as the guys are....   Ouachita is hosting the annual Don Redden Tournament this week, and here we have Ruston vs Carroll.  There's always a fun, enthusiastic, crowd at these games.   Ouachita and Lafayette struggle for control of this loose ball.  These teams battled like this all through the game, but the final score wasn't even close.  There was 3:41 left in the fourth quarter at this time and Lafayette had a comfortable 47-24 lead.  Lafayette won this battle under the goal, and went on to win this game 50-30....   Ruston is on the hustle, trying to get under the basket.  Lafayette has the lead in this game 12-7 with 1:35 left in the first quarter.  Ruston held their own and eventually won the game by three, 39-36.  This was a game we could not leave because it was so close, throughout.  Have you been to a game lately?  Let's go out and support these kids.  They are playing some very good basketball as they stay in tune  for district play....
