A huge rivalry game with a league title on the line, between two undefeated teams with Edison being ranked number one in the state by the C.I.F., equals the perfect match up. Edison is the number one ranked football team in the state by the C.I.F. and the upset would be legendary. This game will be played at Cal State Fullerton.
Roosevelt (7-1, 4-0) vs. Garfield (4-4, 2-2); Friday, 7p.m.
Get there early because this is a tougher ticket to get than a Lakers-Clippers game. It is expected that 25,000 plus will pack the stands for this backyard rivalry. It will be at East Los Angeles College.
Arroyo Grande (7-1, 3-0) vs. Atascadero (6-2, 2-1); Friday, 7:30p.m.
A big-time Pac-7 league game between that has league title implications. It's going to be an epic battle of conflicting styles as Arroyo Grande's high-powered offense looks to dominant Atascadero's stingy defense.
Serra (5-3) vs. Archbishop Mitty (7-0); Saturday, 2:00p.m.
Mitty looks to stay unbeaten this year and Serra could be their last test before the playoffs. As long as Mitty can win out, they should have a strong case to be the number one D-II team from the Central Coast Section. Many are picking this game as an upset, but CoachesAid.com/ca believes Mitty will run away with this one even though Serra is at home with a Saturday afternoon game.
Rocklin (8-0) vs. Del Oro (7-1); Friday, 7:30p.m.
In our CoachesAid.com/ca rankings, this is a battle of two, top-5 ranked teams in the Sac-San Joaquin Section and it should be everything as advertised. Both defenses are pretty stingy with Rocklins being a bit better. Both teams can run and this should be a punishing game between two, talented teams.
